That may or may not be true, but it is still a fact that we do adorn ourselves. Clearly, one of the reasons we do so is to bond with our tribal or group community. While this is obviously true in isolated indigenous cultures, it is not as clearly evident in our large Western cultures, with our mix of fashions and styles. Take a closer look, though.

As human beings, we need to feel like we’re part of a tribe. The whole is too overwhelming. So, we pick a subculture to belong to, according to our talents, our aspirations, our backgrounds and a host of other reasons, both conscious and unconscious. Some of us identify with goths and wear clothing and jewelry that reflects that tribal affiliation. Some of us wear gold watches, in order to display our affiliation with the more affluent classes.

Another thing that compels us to wear specific adornments is the special occasion. We wear one kind of clothes for dating, another kind for working and yet another for going to war. There is also appropriate jewelry such as a necklace and makeup for every occasion. This is exactly what our prehistoric forefathers did, too. There is nothing new about it.

Why else do we adorn ourselves? While a simple straw hat may be entirely utilitarian in nature, it also reflects our status or role in our community. There is nothing utilitarian about a top hat, though. The top hat is simply a symbol of status. Literally and figuratively, it shows that a man “stands above” others in society.

Finally, it comes down to personal choice. We may all be part of humanity as a whole and our cultures specifically, but we are also all individuals. We express our individuality in the jewelry we wear. No all gold watches, for example, look alike.

I bought this Razor Cruiser Scooter for my son’s 5th birthday. It looked large in the box, and my husband immediately took it out and rode it around the house – WOW! It is smooth and fast and fun. This is great at the park – he can coast along the sidewalk forever without even kicking. The handle bar easily adjusts up and down so my son and husband could take turns. I believe this to be the BEST scooter out there for riding!

I purchased this Razor Cruiser Scooter for both my 8 and 10 year old daughters as they had out grown their “begginer” scooters. They love the larger wheels for getting over the lip of the driveway and bumps in the sidewalk, as well as the smoother ride. The slightly wider platform was a plus too. Would definitely recommend this product.

I got this scooter to save me a few mins walking to the bus station. I read one reviewer on here saying that the handlebars are too low for anyone over 5′6″. I’m 5′11″ but decided to give it a try anyway.I have to agree that the handlebars are too low for most adults. I would say 5′9″ is the limit. The Razor Pro scooter has handle bars that are 3″ higher, and I think that would be good for people up to 6′ tall. As for the wood deck, that same reviewer said it came warped. The deck is bowed, but that is a part of the design. The deck will flex when you stand on it, so it was designed to bow upwards to compensate for the flex. The flex on the deck does make the ride smoother by helping to absorb some of the bumps. But I feel this flex also makes the ride feel less stable. Personally, I would prefer a solid metal deck.
Overall, the scooter is well made and I would highly recommend it to anyone under 5′9″
