The way you are perceived by others is important especially if you are in other people’s company on a daily basis. Most people care about the impression they leave on others, if they have any self pride and that is why they like to wear perfume. Nobody wants to be near someone that does not smell clean and fresh, but when you have a pleasing aroma those around you appreciate it on a conscious and unconscious level. Unfortuately there are people who are only interested in the latest fashion trends or what the latest designer fragrance their friends are wearing, rather than what suits their own body or personality.
Different Fragrance Notes and You
How a particular fragrance will smell on you has many determining factors. How perfume will smell when you wear it, will depend on your natural aroma, diet, body temperature and skin chemistry. Therefore never buy anything just because it happens to suit someone else or you like it on them, because a fragrance that smells great on your friend may not on you. Your friend might like wearing Juicy Couture Perfumes as her scent of choice, but they may not smell as nice on you, even if you love them, so it would not be wise to make them your signature perfumes.
There are two ways to determine whether a fragrance will suit you or not. Firstly, spray or dab it on. You can decide if a perfume smells nice or not by simply tring it on and if you have only just begun experimenting with different fragrances, this is the only way for you to know. Once you have been wearing perfume for a number of years you will start to develop an idea of which fragrance notes smell good on you, and which do not. Secondly, you will receive compliments as people will begin to comment on your perfume choice.
Fragrance notes are what make each perfume smell unique. Every fragrance, it doesn’t matter which one you try, will all be composed of top, middle and base notes. Top notes are what you initially smell when you apply the perfume to your skin and have a well-defined aroma or scent. Once the top notes begin to evaporate you will begin to notice the middle notes, which have a more delicate smell. Base notes have lush, resonant aroma and they last longer. The middle and base notes of a perfume form its base.
Knowing You Have Found Your Signature Perfume
Finding your signature perfume is similar to choosing the right romantic partner, in that it often takes time and experience and it isn’t something that can be rushed. If you want to find your perfume then you must forget about the latest trends and fashions. Instead you can try trial size bottles or various discount perfumes until you find the one that suits you and you like. Once you have found the right fragrance for you, people will begin to ask you what you are wearing. Finding your signature perfume takes time and effort, but you will be happy when you do as it will make you feel attractive everytime you wear it.
